Goodbye Gnome, welcome Xfce

As Gnome seems to focus more and more on eye candy like KDE and they both eat up your resources I made the switch to Xfce. Much less resource hungry than GNOME or KDE. Xfce is a fantastic choice for older computers and provides all the functionality you need. Xfce balances functionality and conservation of system resources very well. By default the newly released Xfce 4.8 looks pretty much like OS-X. Not to forget it runs extremely fast on newer computers. Xfce consumes less power than Gnome. The battery runtime on my Dell Inspiron 1525 (Intel Pentium Dual-Core 1.86Ghz, 2GB RAM, Intel Mobile GM965, WD Scorpio 500GB) increased from 3h to 3:30h.
