Stop using RC4! NSA is watching you!

The RC4 cipher is not secure anymore and most likely the NSA can break it in real time. So stop using it! RC4 is very fast and this is why a lot of sites use it by default. If you don’t accept RC4 almost 100% of the websites will support secure encryption.

For Firefox: Start Firefox, type ‘about:config’ , search for ‘RC4’ and set all values to ‘false’. Well done! Firefox won’t accept RC4 anymore.

You might call me paranoid but the NSA Is Breaking Most Encryption on the Internet. Just use stronger keys… Let’s have some fun 🙂

Best Firefox plugin ever

Probably the best plugin for my beloved Firefox I’ve ever seen: RequestPolicy is a Firefox extension that improves the privacy and security of your browsing by giving you control over when cross-site requests are allowed by webpages you visit.

The idea for RequestPolicy was originally conceived in 2007 by Justin Samuel. Initial proof-of-concept work (i.e. make sure I can selectively block requests using a Firefox extension) was done in early 2008. Major development started in September 2008. The first stable release of RequestPolicy was in December 2008. For the next few years, RequestPolicy version 0.5 was continuously being improved. Planning and development of version 1.0 began in 2010. Version 1.0 reached alpha status in 2012.

Can’t upgrade due to low disk space on /boot

Need some space for your kernel and ubuntu/kbuntu/xubtunu/lubuntu didn’t free it? Can’t upgrade due to low disk space on /boot ?
This one’s for the shell. Here you go:

dpkg -l ‘linux-*’ | sed ‘/^ii/!d;/'”$(uname -r | sed “s/\(.*\)-\([^0-9]\+\)/\1/”)”‘/d;s/^[^ ]* [^ ]* \([^ ]*\).*/\1/;/[0-9]/!d’ | xargs sudo apt-get -y purge

Only Chinese batteries blow up?

No! Changed the battery of my Samsung GT-S5570L just in time. And that was the original one…

Be free

Just killed one Windows XP and one Windows 8. Two more computers running Lubuntu – a fast, secure and lightweight operating system.

Surveillance sucks!

I hear you and I’m with you. Just learn how to use GnuPG and OTR. Email and IM will be safe!

Never ever call me paranoid again

Just because you’re not paranoid it doesn’t mean they’re not watching you. NSA is basically monitoring your whole digital life:

“Was ist Linguee?

7.2mbit vs. 128kbit

I love Dominican Internet and 7.2mbit HSDPA downstream almost as much as I do hate 128kbit when I exceed my volume restriction.
